I pretty much live off my parents and have no job, and no goals for the future. It's hard for me to commit to things because of how lazy I am. Do you need to work on getting yourself together, like working hard towards something in order to gain self respect and confidence?

Yeah, especially if you have to ask strangers. It would have been nice if you came here with something that indicated you were trying. Time for you to get out of your nest.

What on earth do you do with your time?

Get a decent job bro. Don't be lazy, so unattractive.

I worked so hard to get my job I literally killed my social life, women etc for about a year. I've picked my social life back up again now but still a year off my dream, and my life is so fucking exciting (or it will be soon enough).

do the exercises in Feeling Good by Dr David Burns, like write down the things you did during the day like dress, brush your teeth, check your email etc. also break down every task into smallest bits, like 'now i am raising my hand. now i am moving my foot. now i am washing this one dish. etc." also find events and shows and just go out on your own. life will change in 1-3 years if you do this consistently and put effort into it.

The whole point of self acceptance is that you don't have to do anything to be good enough for yourself. And it's not your self concept (good working, not lazy, etc.) that you're accepting. You're accepting yourSELF.

Don't work at it, and fuck, don't work at anything. You're able to be entirely content with where you're at right now.
