I tihnk age has a lot to do with it. Personally, I much rather be direct; I'm in my mid-to-late thirties, I don't have time for games.

However, someone brought up a good point of showing, rather than telling, that is why I'm a big fan of touch - I can usually tell by touching a woman if I have a chance or not.

I mean one of my biggest recent score was an alpha female, hardcore business chick I was VERY direct with...I mean before we even met each other, we frigin' got connected through linkedin and sealed the deal that night! This woman was also around my age (maybe a year older). Women in their thirties, especially, mid-thirties, also like to get to the point...is this happening or not? Do I like this guy or not? Does he like me or not? Does he just want to bang me? They got that biological clock thing going on.

But also, as someone else pointed out, it's the situation too. I mean, if you're some girl and you meet some guy and the first thing he does is profess his undying love to you, what would you think?

P.S. I was glad I saw this post, I was dreading that getting back in the game meant having to always deal with stupid games....this was very reassuring.

It's not because it worked for you once that it's the perfect game plan. It depends of the girl you want to approach and your style too. For example, if I see a hot chick, I will not go direct because it will look like any other douchebag. IMO, you can WHATEVER you want, it's the way you are and the way you say it that matters.
