I am going to a military ball in a few weeks. It will be my friend and his girlfriend, along with me and a female friend. I am interested in pursuing my female friend for a potential LTR, and thanks to recent events, I have safely avoided the friend zone. The sexual tension is definitely there, along with a healthy amount of kino and non-stop flirting/bantering. My point is, there appears to be a bit of mutual attraction there.

Anyway, I've never been to a military ball before. I don't even know what they entail, exactly. I have no clue what kind of dancing is involved (is it extremely formal dancing, like ball room dancing? No idea.) or really anything else for that matter.

I am posting to see if anyone could throw out a few ideas on how to really sweep her off her feet. I need to transition from the guy who always makes her laugh to the guy who could potentially be in a relationship with her. It will all start when I pick her up at her house, all the way to the 3 hour car ride to get to the ball, the ball itself, and sleeping together in a hotel room afterward.

If you guys have any ideas at all for any of the logistics involved here, please post. It's amazing how much easier it is to give others advice than it is to give advice to yourself.

When I go to some place new, or with some new people, I don't set my goals that high (I want to sweep this girl of her feet). I say to myself This is a great opportunity to practice calibration and my goal is just to make myself part of that whole thing. I don't need and I don't want to be the coolest guy there, I just want to be comfortable and enjoy myself.

Once this element is there, you can escalate the way you normally would do. Dance with her and whisper something she wants to hear, go outside with her, whatever.
