So my lawyer friend is dating this Russian stripper (he actually pulled her from the club a few months ago - props). So he sets me up with her friend who's brand new to US. She had already seen pictures of me and had told her friend she thought I was cute.

We went to fancy dinner and karaoke. She was total ice queen. Literally it was like talking to a rock. Tried being funny with some good, simple to understand jokes - nothing. Tried asking her about herself and got ZERO answers. She wouldn't even tell me what she wanted to do in life - even with her friend interpreting.

She basically spent the entire time texting and making weird faces and I think maybe even ragging on me a little bit with her friend (as well as others). I did I think get a bit visibly nervous a few times which almost never happens but they were both sharp and I think picked up on it. The only other negative is I let my age slip and meant to lie (I am 41 but look 35 and she thought I was 38 - she's 23 but said she does like older guys). Also, she found out I had kids but so does her friend and 1/2 the strippers in the world.

Bottom line is it went nowhere from beginning to end.

So in the future, any tips? Could I have dealt with this differently somehow to open her up?

Oh and here's the totally confusing thing. My friend asked her after I left "Hey, what's your deal do you not like Darren?" She said "No, I do like him and I'd like to go out with him again - he's cute and funny".

What am I missing here?

Was English her first language? As a general rule, dates with girls who aren't completely fluent in English tend to be a disaster, unless you have a lot of easy routines to perform that they'll be able to understand. Communication is vital, and as she's only 23 also she probably doesn't have a huge amount of experience with dating in general. Next time I'd advise less conversation, and more universal gimmicks such as pen/paper games, showing her your I-pod, photos on your phone, performing magic tricks etc. The trick with quiet girls is to treat them like babies, I never go on any date without these sort of contingency plans in store.

Have you had homeless guy try to come up to you asking for money but you kept ignoring him and walking away? In your case here, you were the homeless guy asking her for money.

She was giving you a major shit test. You kept jumping right into it by trying to be the nice guy and she won the battle.

In this case, While keeping your cool being emotionally nonreactive. Call her out on it and break her down. If she still is being a bitch, come up with a stupid excuse and bail. "Oh crap, is almost time to floss my cat, see you." Even if you shared a ride, screw it, don't drive that bitch back home.

Think of what someone with 20 hot girlfriends would do when he is on a date with her. Abundance mentality.

I have had dates like this, exactly what I did. Not all, but some hit me back up saying sorry. I took them out again, but make them jump through hoops.

Nice guys don't get laid, or if they do, very occasionally. Your a freaking lawyer, she is just some stripper. You can buy girls like that, lol.

I wanted to add, maybe she was looking for a rich older man. Your friend is a lawyer. Maybe he's buying her friend stuff in exchange for sex? Maybe she thought that was the deal. (I'm completley assuming stuff here, not trying to be insulting)

Russian, stripper, likes older guys and new to country raises alarms in my head. Some women are only interested in specific things and impossible to game.

Not too many details about the interaction hence difficult to interpret. But from your dont think you could've done anything differently in this case - may be she was constipated, had her periods, jet lagged, Not social - could be so many things.

So what do you want to do, do you want to take her to bed or just not interested? If yes, then try setting up the next date back at your place, for may be a dinner and a movie.

Eastern European girls, especially Russians, are notorious for being cold until you break down some of their barriers.

She's grown up around guys that are prone to getting drunk of vodka and being aggressively direct with their game. Like, calling her over and over if she doesn't pick up. If she gives even a little encouragement, they become even more aggressive.

Do a little research on picking up russian girls, and the difference their cultural upbringing makes in your approach.

The comment about my lawyer friend spending money on her friend is true. Could be she wants a sugar daddy and the problem is my dogs come to me.
