I can see your point, I use the five lies way too much and with 'The Game' being made into a film there's a good chance we soon won't be able to use it any more. Bit of a shame but at least it's got me branching out and finding a bigger range of material.

Gap fillers? I've never needed those. Just guess what her name is, where she's from, etc. You can find all the information to those boring questions by just making assumptions about them instead of asking in a question.

Making statements is powerful. Make more statements. Ask less questions. Questions can even be re-framed into statements.

Im wondering if you taste better with whipped creme or chocolate ;]

If you make questions make them fun or unique. NOT Nice Guy Questions!

by that I just meant routines, jokes and general techniques you could use to pick up the conversation. Quite new to this so not sure about what material to use.

By following the advice on statements I've not had any more problems with awkward silences. Thanks again guys.

even if the game is made to a movie, u can still use the 5 lies routine.
the chance is that she will have never seen the movie, and even if she had, u can just say u watched the movie and thought it is a fun game and want to try it.

no harm done at all
