Fairly new to this so want some quick advice...

Met this chick at the bar on Saturday night. Went well but her friends made her leave... got her number and closed the night with a kiss.

Followed up today - gave her a call, told her i wanted to see her again and asked her out to drinks this week. She responded with "it's fashion week so I'm really busy but I'll text you later this week when I'm more free and have my schedule figured out."

I know she works in fashion from our conversations Sat. night and that it actually is new york fashion week this week... so she's definitely not lying from that respect. I also have other friends who work in fashion, and they are always swamped during fashion week as well.

Regardless, I'm wondering how to interpret her response... I see her response as 3 possibilities:

1) I'm actually very busy and swamped
2) eh, i'm not sure... let me hold off and talk to my girlfriends and see what i should do
3) not interested, let me give a believable BS answer

What are people's thoughts here? And what should my next steps be? Should I follow up after a few days... or just leave it to her (and if she doesn't respond, drop the whole thing)?

You're totally over thinking this... she is busy.

Say "OK cool deal! Yeah I have some friends in fashion too, I know how fashion week is. Good luck! "

Then wait. If she doesn't reply by the end of the week hit her up for drinks over the weekend.

Yeah - well, that's basically what I said to her on the phone...

so i will check in late this week again or something

Also - do you think I should follow up with a text or a call?

I want to make sure I don't come off as too clingy/desperate and that I'm social and have other things going on/she's not the only girl on my mind. From that perspective, I feel like a text would be better?

You'll have a better chance of her saying yes with a call

But I wont lie I'd end up texting. But that's because I have multiple options and could care less if she said no. Just remember... you k-closed so obviously she has attractions. So don't fuck that up... its easy to do with text.
