This is the text for Transcendental meditation... The one that cost $1000-2500 just to learn http://minet.org/Documents/TM-FAQ

I do it everyday

You should have no difficulty finding a Yoga studio in the city you live in.

Great way to clear your mind, sharpen your focus, stretch out your muscles (great for bodybuilders like me), and guess what...

CHICKS dig yoga too!

You can also try this breathing exercise I recommend to clients:

-breath in for 4 seconds (from the belly)
-hold for 4 seconds
-breath out for 4 seconds
-hold for 4 seconds

And repeat a few times.

This is a typical breathing exercise therapists often use to get highly anxious clients to calm down and feel more grounded. It's a staple in Yoga, and there are many variations of it but I think you'll find it quite effective and something you can do anytime, anywhere.

Thanks for your responses.

I spent this whole day (sunday) in the office, and i was like Fuck this. I need some mediation or something. Then I decided to go to spa center. It was worth the money.

Fuze, I'll try to torrent this. :)

Papi, I don't really have time for yoga. I just need something that relatively easy to learn and that won't take much time and will help me clear my head.

Yoga incorporates meditation, in fact it's all about meditation.

"Yoga (Sanskrit, Pāli: योग yóga) is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline, originating in ancient India.[1][2] The goal of yoga, or of the person practicing yoga, is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility while meditating on the Supersoul.[3] The word is associated with meditative practices in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism.[4][5][6]"

Ya, I'm quoting Wikipedia of all places, whatever.

Point is I think you have some misconceptions about Yoga. Although, some places do place less emphasis on the spirituality part of it and treat is as though it were more a form of exercise.

You dont need to fork out 1000s of dollars. My mother did Transcendental in India, its absolute rubbish or at the very east not good value.

Try this
get a small low table, light a candle on it. sit down infront of it on a cushion so your butt knees don't hurt after 10 minutes. Concentrate on the flame and on your breathing. It will help your concentration.

You can do the same anywhere. Walk out to a beach early in the morning. Watch the waves with half open eyes while concetrating on your breathing.

Point of meditation is to be in the present. You don't need to pay a teacher to pay alot of money to do it.

If you're ok with it(your religion allows you) then buy a small buddha statue with a smile(most have a light smile). Whenever you feel down, sit down in front of it for 5 mins. Looking at a human face with a smile makes you smile.

“Smile, breathe and go slowly" Thich Nhat Hanh

@Deeper
I tried that last year, didn;t really do for me. Probably didn't invest enough.

@Fuze
Just wanted to thank you. This one I really enjoy.
