Every once in a while, a guy might get the notion that maybe he'd like to have a relationship that lasts longer than a one/two night stand. I had that idea a few months ago, and I thought "screw the relatioship horror stories, screw the crazy sh*t that women do to drive guys crazy, I'm going to try to find myself a honest-to-goodness girlfriend.
Now, a little background info about me, I'm 24, well educated (no, that's NOT me bragging, and YES it is important), 6'2", and moderately good looking (think 7 out of 10, or something thereabouts).
Unfortunately, what I've discovered is that apparently all the attractive women (9s and 10s) are complete airheads. Since I'm looking for more than just the "hanky-panky" (I'd like someone I can actually talk to, if I'm going to be with them for more than a few days), the amount of hot, dumb women is disturbing. To illustrate, here's an example from a bar I went to once:
Perfect 9: (approaching me) "Hi, how are you?
Me: "Hi"
---- conversation ensues, and after a few minutes THIS happens:
Me: "So, have you read any good books lately?" (yes, I know it's clichéd, but I was genuinely curious)
P9: "I've read Cosmo yesterday"
Me: "No, no, no, sweetheart, BOOKS, you know, with covers, and pages and no pictures"
P9: (perfectly serious) "Does the phone book count?"
Me: (facepalm.......walks away)
See what I mean? She wasn't even teasing, she was perfectly serious. Are there really no smart girls that are also perfect 9s and 10s? If such creatures do exist, where the heck do I find them?
Please help.

P.S. Please understand that I'm not trying to brag when I say that I'm well educated, this is one time when my "love for books" is seriously messing with my "love for women".

Yes there are attractive women who aren't airheads/retards/simpletons/what ever name you call them, although that also depends on how you define attractive. But I feel your pain man. Just need to keep trying, you can usually spot them in the crowd, I've found them more often to be the quiet one, or unfortunately the one with the boyfriend, or the one that stays at home more often doing other fun activities, or the sober one who drives or the centre of attention.

That really depends on what you define as "attractive". For men, our attraction is far less subjective than women, but there's still no universal scale to rate women. If you're going for the dumb look then you are most likely approaching dumb girls.

Brotip: I've noticed that usually the ones who try hard to look good (lots of makeup, slutty clothes) are infact airheads.

IMO opinion it's pretty hard to form a relationship with someone you met at the bar, many of the girls there who are on the lookout for guys just want to have some fun for the night. And quite often the ones who dress themselves up to look slutty are airheads. Why not go to the library or something and chat up the girls there, there's tons of gorgeus women who aren't the party type.

Unfortunately not all attractive girls are thick, which is a great shame because presumably the more stupid a girl is the easier she should be.

You seriously need to decide which is more important: your love for sex or your love for books. You can always read a book after fucking a dumb attractive girl. Be grateful you can get any girl, let alone an attractive one!

I think OP's problem here is thinking of intelligence as a dichotomy. Is she stupid, or is she smart?

She relates to people, and individual stories well. She would love to see a documentary, but can't stand to read long books on a single topic. The analytical man approaches and asks about books, she hasn't read any recently. She prefers the articles in Cosmo, but she DOES remember looking up a friend in the phonebook recently... huh, would he count that?

That may not be the case here. There are girls who are ditzy, and don't take well to any academia, but I advise casting a wider net than "Have you read any good books lately?" to find your intelligent woman. Who reads books anymore?

1)if you want a girl that enjoys reading books, why the fuck are you looking for her at a bar instead of a book club/chapters

2)if a person reads books or not is no indication of how intelligent they are

3)physical appearance is no indication of intelligence or if someone reads or not

Well, you def aren't gonna find her in the club. You would have better luck finding an intelligent attractive girl at a music festival, art festival, gym, book store, club, sporting event, concert, etc etc. If you are looking for a relationship its best to look in a place where you share a common interest.
