Hi guys!

Basically I met this girl in September and we hit it off immediately, met up a couple of times for a few drinks and then sadly she had to move away for work. Anyway in December she moved back here permanently and wanted to start seeing me more - she's interested in me and she knows the feeling is reciprocated. On Friday we have arranged our first official 'date' and I was wondering what everyones opinion is on buying the girl some flowers and giving them to her at the end of the night?

Any help would be great.

a) You don't want to come off as trying to impress her by buying things for her. You're cool enough you won't need it.

b) A big romantic cliche right off the bat will often be seen as creepy, especially if its a first date.

c) I am not against buying gifts, but only when she has done something to deserve a gift. Agreeing to see you is not such motivation

I'm not against giving flowers but I wouldn't do it on the first date. I'd wait a little bit till you two have established more of a connection.

I agree witht he two last posters. You should give it to her when she actually earns it, not just yet
If you want to be romantic, just give her the top of a (red) rose at the end of the evening or something, not a bouquet of flowers.

Girls say they want a romantic guy who gives them flowers.

But then when some romantic guy falls in love with her and actually gives her flowers, suddenly he's a pathetic creepy loser. However, if a cocky sexy bad boy comes along and beats the loser up with the flowers, she'll love the bad boy and fall deeply in love with him! (Notice the further irony of her falling in love despite criticising someone else for falling in love!)

So basically if you want to get rejected give her flowers, but if you want her to love, kiss and fuck you, then you're far better off being the cocky sexy bad boy!
