I understand the concept of the 3 second rule, but what if those 3 seconds do not allow you to get a good look at a girl. What if she turns out to be uglier than you thought? Or worse, I'm worried that I'll approach a girl who's like 15 years old, because a lot of high school girls look like they could be in college... I'm 19. It's hard to tell a girl's age when she's in her teens/20's unless you take some time to look.

I just don't want to be the creep who hits on a mature-looking 14-year old.

Dont worry about it man....that 3 second rule is a generalization...It basically says that a woman knows within 3 seconds of meeting you if she's interested in you....or if you see a girl, to talk to her immediately because after 3 seconds all your programming kicks in and gives you reasons not to approach her..


If you see a girl you want to talk to.....talk to her right away. Go up to her and start a conversation..


You're 19...in most places the age of consent is 16...so assuming you live in one of those places, you should normally be okay...Age shouldn't matter at all as long as its legal and consensual..both parties agree and are on the same page. Its not okay to be older and manipulate a young female tho..thats what I'm getting at...thats fucked and wrong.

But anyway, the age factor should be something you can determine while getting to know her..eventually, at some point in your talks with the girl, you'll stumble across what you each do for work/school...and by shit like that you'll be able to gauge about how old she is without her even telling you...and dude, if you ever get in a situation where things escalate quickly.......its better to be safe than sorry....card the girl. lol...If she ends up being under the age of consent, things could end badly...so if in doubt, either leave it alone, or confirm some how she is of age.

I understand your concern about the rule, but it exists for a reason. It's there so you don't overthink it. Just do it, make your approaches light (it's easier if you start off indirect) and if you don't like her after all, just eject.

Ok thanks. But unfortunately I live in California, where the age of consent is 18. It really sucks. If I meet a girl a tiny bit younger than me, it could be off limits.

If thats the case, then dont worry....go places where its only 18+...

Or if you're in a regular public place..like a store or library, or just walking down a boardwalk or something....keep what I said in mind......Chances are, just talking to her and finding out more about her thru conversing, eventually you'll cover the topics of work/school and based on that you'll be able to gauge how old she is...And if you're in doubt.......you can tease her while asking for ID lol...if you go about it playfully, she'll probably hand it over....then you can tease her about her ID picture, you can tease her and tell her you'll need her social security and birth certificate as well to make copies of...........keep in mind if you just say that shit in the beginning you're guna creep her out....you must have built some comfort before teasing her like that....but it does work once shes cool with talking and getting to know you..i've used shit like that myself...and as long as they're comfortable enough showing you their ID....it most likely will be okay to joke about those other things I mentioned lol

But don't pressure yourself so much....take time to talk to them and get to know them a bit.
