Hi, I'm Jake. I'm 19 years old, and I attend a community college. I just got out of a year long relationship about a week ago which I had been in for over a year. Even after being dumped, I was not sad, I felt better than ever. This is when I decided to look into pickup. I found a youtube channel called Simplepickup, and later found this forum. I recently started reading The Game.

I'm not just bad with talking to girls, I'm bad at talking to people in general. Approaching random girls was impossible. I didn't even like approaching guys I didn't know. However, with a little effort and optimism, in the past few days I have rapidly improved my conversational skills. Through pickup, I not only want to become skillful at talking to girls, but people in general.

Today I even started up a conversation with a girl sitting on a bench. We talked for about half an hour. I didn't try to pick her up or anything, but I was still happy I managed to engage a random girl in conversation, and for such a long time. Hopefully that diminished my AA a little. Soon I hope to make my first approach on a girl with the intent of getting her number.

I think I'm going to use a direct approach. It just seems easier to get the hard part over and say "I came over here because I thought you were cute, and I wanted to meet you" and perhaps admit to her that I'm nervous.

I have a lot to learn. This is going to be an interesting journey.
