Everyone says you need hobbies to be an interesting person, to show you have interests & passions and to provide you with interesting things to talk about in conversations. But obviously such things as stamp-collecting and doing crosswords wouldn't sound very impressive to a girl. So what are the most 'alpha' hobbies which aren't sporty?

I say not sporty because although I'm active, fit & healthy, I'm not very good at sports. I haven't played any sports in years, so it would be fruitless for me to take up a sport because I'm too late in the game and too old (mid 20s) to get any good at it for it to be worthwhile. After all, sports are not the kind of things you can be into without people expecting you to be good at them!

(Of course this is all very ironic & unfair for guys, because whenever I ask a hot girl what she's interested in or what hobbies she has, she just says "Oh erm, just going out clubbing with my mates really". And they expect us guys to have plenty of interesting & impressive hobbies, when they have no hobbies at all?! Ridiculous!)

would you like to try baring children and getting a period every month instead?

And your not taking up a hobbies to impress anyone.. That just make you look like even more of a loser. Find something you enjoy and dive into. If its stamp collecting who cares...

MUSIC. That's a big one. There a million ways to get into it, even DJing, where you don't need to actually learn an instrument (but even that is a skill. And also expensive).

ART. Take some drawing classes? You'll have to love drawing if you ever want to be any good, some people have been drawing since they were 2. They have a headstart. There are other kinds of art, less ingrained in people. Metalworking and glassblowing are two.

WRITING. I rap, both freestyle and written, combines this and music a little. It's fun, and there's a culture for it.

DANCE. Again, intertwined with music.

Hope one or more of those strikes your fancy.

EDIT: You said it was "too late" for you to get into sports. By that logic, it's "too late" to get into any of these things. If you put in time, you can be good. Being bad at your hobby will not impress anyone. Being good at your hobby takes an extraordinary amount of time. If you do not love what you're doing, you will not be able to put this amount of time into it. If you are doing something so that you can impress other people, you will not be able to succeed.

due to life circumstances (heavy course load) I no longer have a working driving jeep (its fukin in bad shape, but lots of potential) again this is one of those areas you can use your money and resources that you should have to put together a truck or jeep.

When I had a jeep, it was the awesomest toy you can own really, hey you wanna go 4x4ing? of course they do. Tons of backseat space, subwoofers, and you can tool on it in your garage

sigh... if only mine was on the road! it would make ''hanging out'' or ''dating'' (wahtever excuse for being with her) so much easier

but yeah get to the gym bro, build computers, play an instrument... not video games!

Huh !! I'm surprised by some of the responses !

Hobby is something constructive you LIKE to do in your free time. Its got nothing to do with you being Alpha or not. So why isn't stamp collection a good hobby ?

Tell a girl how you absolutely like collecting stamps from different countries, talk to her about how they reflect a different point in time and history, explain to her how stamps of countries with rich history would often have some historical figure on it. Show your passion towards it and she would like it.

Singing, dancing, painting, pottery, music etc.. are all pursued by both men and women. There is nothing such as Alpha male hobbies.

If all you want are conversation fillers, pick anything out of a hat. If you want to leverage your hobby as a pick up tool, go get yourself a motorcycle.

1. Take lessons.
2. Don't be a chump and buy a brand new 1,300cc as your starter bike.
3. Do buy a comfortable, used bike. Cheap these days . . . Get a comfy 2nd helmet as well. Get yourself some kick ass bike boots.
4. Ride every weekend and figure out some great spots. Figure out close rides, 2 hour long rides, over-nighters, etc . . .
5. Every ^location is a discussion topic + an invite. (Many girls will invite themselves)

One of those Mission Impossible movies was shot near Shanghai at a "water village". When I lived there, that was my one of my favorite destinations. The lady at the dumpling restaurant by the entrance used to shake her finger at me every time I brought in a new girl . . .

It really doesn't matter what you do for a hobby, as long as you have one. Explain how you got into the hobby and why you do it, and you'll find that it no longer matters what you do, but how you do it.

All girls have hobbies that they are passionate about however most wont reveal them to a stranger they have just met out somewhere, if you push on the angle that you want to know their real hobbies and the real them then this is much more likely to make her feel a connection and subsequently attraction towards you, than if you were to just talk about yourself.

Even if you have the coolest hobbies ever, bragging about them wont win you any brownie points, most girls don't really give a shit about that kind of thing, they want a guy to listen to them and show them that they are interested in them for more than their looks, if you treat it like it's a job interview going on about your hobbies, accomplishments etc. you wont be doing yourself any favours, make the conversation about them not you, the less you reveal about yourself and the more they reveal about themselves the better. This gives you an aura of mystery, women love mystery it makes them want to get to know you better.

If you go out and start picking up hobbies like merit badges then it will hardly help your conversational game, it will most likely open you up to new social circles and experiences which is great but if you are only doing it because you think it will get you chicks then your heart wont be in it and you wont see it through, I guarantee it.

Of course it is definitely worth dropping some of your geekier hobbies if you want to look like a well adjusted human being eg. WoW, Magic cards, D&D etc. If I was you I would be trying to look for hobbies that both men and women can enjoy, so when you meet girls you can potentially include them in those hobbies, this could even provide you with some great first date opportunities. Many of those listed above are great options.

Maybe not a a full blown hobby, but grown women that I have run into (I dont know how these 18 & 19 year olds are about it) find it attractive.

Fact is though that most acceptable or attractive hobbies that men have (besides music, art, or motorcycles) are sports related.

Art is a very chilled hobby to take up man. I've been drawing since I was
7 (after I saw TITANIC and I saw Jack Dawson draw that chick nude I knew wanted to do that one day!
Except with a much hotter girl haha) It's not only about
that, it's just a relaxing art form, it's also something that girls find
intriguing that contains a cultural and educational aspect behind
it, it shows her that you've taken that time to learn a craft
and put it to use in imitating life! And thats a good thing!
Drawing ain't easy, I personally do charcoal photo-realstic
sketches, for me it took me under 3 days to learn because I had
all that past artistic experience behind me and lodged in my mind
so I found it much easier to draw human shapes and whatnot.

If you have something, anything behind you that shows the girl
you have interests besides PS3 and drinking then that's gotta be an
attractive quality? Depending on what it is of course.

As for the pubes in the jar collecting thing,
thats just fucked up PMPL.
