Its coming up t o prearranged day 2 with a girl i met before the xmas, its going to be a movie and pizza job.

Over text she said that she'd give me a back rub in exchange for a foot rub, problem is that apart from a few crap youtube vids i have no idea how to rub feet. I'm also not overly sure how to sexually charge the situation, ie moving up the legs or kissing legs...? I don't have any underlying foot kink...

Do more research online, I've found plenty of websites that teach you how to properly massage a person.

Try Barnes and Noble too, they have books on this kind of stuff.

When it comes to escalating, I wouldn't try kissing her legs if you two haven't already hooked up. Find out about the errogenous zones on a girl and pay attention to how she responds. Hitting those pleasure spots will get her in the mood in no time.
