Its new years parties tonight(where i am) all over the world!!!

Is there any special techniques that would work for a occasion like this? Sure many are interested. Any nice openers or anything??

I think maybe a more detailed one would be better.
eg. Don't you think last years firework display was better?(or visa versa)
