I live in a small town, the kind where everyone knows everyone.

Since I moved to college I haven't socialized in the town (4 years). I feel I've drifted from all my old school mates. I hated the place I and was happy to never see most people again but I feel I want to reconnect with 'old friends' as I only have 3 friends in my hometown.

The 3 friends live with me in college and come home with me at the weekends, they go out socializing with their friends while I stay at home pretty much afraid of going in and no one knowing me.

On Friday the town will be buzzing and everyone will be out, I've convinced myself I have to show my face. Everyone my age(20) will be out in the bars. I'm extremely nervous about going because i'll be facing people I haven't talked to in years and i'm not sure on how to talk to the exactly?

I really don't want an awkward night, thankfully I won't be going alone I've got my 3 friends to go out with. I just don't want people saying "Who's that guy?"

Thoughts?

Sounds to me like this is an amazing opportunity. With the factor of being "annonymous", you should feel like you have the balls to try new things, recreate yourself. Become the dude that everyone loves, the dude that picks up with ease, the dude that's laidback, the dude that parties and parties hard. You can do virtually whatever you want!

Youll need a bit of preparation, but believe me, the anxiety you feel now will not feel as bad out on the field. It never does. The hardest part of anything is starting, and once your out there your gold. But, heres what you should do:

- Go into it not caring what people think of you. Before you go up to a set, tell yourself you dont give a shit. It works wonders man.

- Think beforehand about what you want to talk about. Think of stories, real or fake, and rehearse them in your mind. Try to make it so it sounds like your a successful person.

- Body language. Master it and be comfortable with yourself. There are plenty of topics here about it.

- You gotta talk like your the center of attention. This will make people dig you man. See if you can get a date.

Good luck dude
