I have just split up with my GF but before we were going out I had 3 women (excluding my gf) that I rotated round.

They were all regular fuck buddys that I met and went out on two or three dates before the lay. This was AFC but unintentionally it created so much tension and desire for her to have me that it provided a good foundation for us to keep seeing each other regularly.

Now that I have split up with my gf I am back on the dating scene. I have several girls lined up but want to know what your guys experience is in the number of dates before sex and the affect more or less dates has on it becoming a regular fuck buddy thing. Surely a SNL will have more buyers remorse than someone you have taken out twice and is more open to making it regular?

Am I on the right track or completely wrong? Also when I say date its not really a meal and wine type thing but more hanging out and happening to do something fun.

Have sex with them as soon as possible, If that's what you want.
It's the best thing you can do if you want them to hang around.

In my opinion... one date to set the stage and another to get it in. Anyone you "date" more than 3x without fucking them (or getting a BJ) will see the situation as more than a fuck buddy.
