I'm 31, just got out of 6 year relationship.

Have barely any one-itis about her, especially considering the amount of time we were together.

Am I too old to be going to clubs and bars? I have not done that single for a very long time and have no idea how acceptable it is.

Could someone in their 30's please describe their experience in the field?

31 is still pretty young!

Give it a shot, you will probably find it will benefit you a great deal. At your age, you may find you like Lounges a bit more than clubs.

My last LTR was 24 years old (ended a couple months ago), does that mean I have some built in right to shoot for 22 year olds?

"Too old"? Be happy you found the community so early!

I think it is a good thing, you have a little more life-experience and you may have gotten past some of that teenage attitude that makes it difficult for younger people to learn anything for real.

You are not old, if you look at the people here who are somehow good at this, they are with some exceptions around 30 or more.

Damn man - 31 is young. I'm in my late 30s and I just started. Believe me you are starting at the right time. You have a lot of years! Even at my age 20 somethings still come up to me pretty regularly when I am out - actually way more than they did when I was in my 20s.

BTW the bar or club you choose go out to will make a big difference depending on which age range you're looking for. I live near a big city. When I go out in the city there are mostly people in their 20s out (early 20s). Seems the further I go away from the city the more mixed age ranges you see. Some clubs I go to have everything from 20s-40s (and sometimes beyond) in them.

Yea, no problem. You are barely out of your 20s. A lot of girls in their 20s like older guys too. If you want a girl at that age that would be a good place to go.

Not too old! I'm in my early 30's too, and I see plenty of people my age or older out.

And as far as being percieved as too old, well I guess it depends on how you look and act. I look a good 5 years younger than what I actually am, people are always surprised when I tell them, so I have that going for me.

Just don't go up to people and tell them your age, lol.

Personally though, I don't like going to bars where it's all college age kids (that 21-23 range). Yeah, the girls are great to look at, but I generally find them all annoying as hell.

I like girls a few years removed from college, like mid to late 20's. And like somebody already said, alot of girls go for older guys because they think we're more mature (little do they know that never happens, haha!). And yeah, the fact that you have more life experiences is a plus too. More to talk about, and it makes you seem more interesting.

Just don't make to many 80's or 90's references...the younger girls don't get them and they make you look dated. Ask me how I know...
