Yes, I closed a number at thanksgiving dinner with my family, no it was not with a family member.

There was a random 22 year old hb8 at the party (I happen to have just turned 23) and she was not related to anyone there. She worked with both my relative's mom, and daughter and I guess was having some "home issues" so she came over to have Thanksgiving Dinner with us.

Anyways, I introduced myself, normal things. I wasn't going to push it with all the family around. That said, I did drink...alot. Definitely always had a drink in my hand because I needed it to survive 5 screaming children and their accompanying parents.

At one point I was able to isolate in the living room. I Moved a little closer to her so we could talk more quietly, it was funny because my dad walked in, turned around and then left...I gave him a lot of grief for it later. I asked about her different jobs, turns out she works a lot with adults with special needs, very DHV in my book.

Later the little kids were playing/watching a movie in the basement. I went down there accompanying someone else and hb8 was also down there. I just made like normal with the crowd for a while and hb8 engaged me. I forget exactly what was said, but she made comments like she would walk through my resume, I would have to send it to her phone. So as everyone walked upstairs I hung back and she did as well. I stopped and asked her for her number so I could work on that resume and she said ok. I handed her my phone, she called herself as well and said "there no I have your # too."

We went upstairs and acted like nothing happen. Made sure to kino, on the way up the stairs and in the group photo, touch her back etc. I will call her tomorrow and try to set something up.


This was the story of how I number closed the only other eligible individual at my family thanksgiving, while hopefully not creating a disaster for myself w/ this girl for a variety of reasons (She rejects - unlikely, things go bad - im not known for commitment) haha.
