Ok so I asked a German girl how she felt about the Nazis, and people who still relate Germany with being nazis; like racism, and she got extremely offended and said she felt insulted I even asked her that. (I have heard alot of ignorant people call German people nazis as a joke. I never have, but I wanted to know how it made her feel)

Obviously it doesnt make her feel good at all...She said its nothing to do with Germans today but its just a sad part of their history.

Yet she felt offended for me even asking... for even making the relation between the 2 groups, because she says they are 2 completely different things.

So out of curiosity, are the Nazis a completely taboo topic in Germany? Do all Germans feel this way about the subject?

Would love someone German to reply to me. thanks

I've met a few Germans in my life and they seem to be very sensitive about this topic.

I suppose asking them about Nazi's is like asking a man how big was schlong of the dude who fucked his wife is and how many times she orgasmed.-something you don't wanna do.

I am amazed you even need to ask this. Of course it is going to be a highly sensitive subject for anyone from Germany. The Nazis are a huge stain on German history and something that the country is still unfortunately associated with.

By even asking her that question in her mind you're making a connection between the two. If you're trying to get a girl, stay away from topics such as fascism, it doesn't get them hot and horny in my experience.

NOTE: The "from my experience" comment is a flippant remark and not to be taken seriously

YES. From what I've been told by friends from the area, it is HIGHLY illegal to be in any way supportive of Nazi beliefs in Germany. You can basically assume if they are German, that they are incredibly against discussing it and to do so is a major insult.

Comparison: Let's pretend your grandfather, who is now dead, was a well known serial killer who was proud of his actions. Am I going to ask you questions about him if I'm interested in getting on your good side? No, that's a poor choice. Unfortunately that doesn't even come close to aptly describing the situation, yet that's about as graphic as I'd like to get on here.

In the future, if you want someone to be kind to you, be kind to them. If you want someone to not feel offended, make sure you don't say offensive things.

yea.. well this is a girl ive already got, probably my next serious girlfriend. we have a strong connection so we talk about just about everything.

It just played on my mind afterwards that she was so easily offended by this topic when I was only asking general questions.

It's still very offending to this day to talk about the nazi's in germany. They've covered that subject by 60 years of shame and silence.
As the saying goes: do not mention the war.
