Hey guys i seem to be having trouble getting anywhere after gaining a phone number i will get it get a reply the next day but straight out its friend zone ... any ideas on how to stop this happening .

Reply means you texted and she answered or you called and she answered?

Anyway, if a girl gave you her number, most of the time that means she doesnt see you as friend material so its probably something you do on the way.
Try and excite her through the conversation about things you do, about how fun it'll be when you'll meet, make her laugh, know the person you're talking to and all that.
If you had an interesting talk, and it doesnt feel like a one-sided interrogation then you're in.
Dont be too eager to set a date so she'll know you arent insane and needy, meaning that if you talk to her the first time try to imply that you'll meet soon and if you see that she's picking up your vibes, tell her you wanna meet her and set a date
(try not making this sound as a question, but more as a statement).
Other things that help :
- Stories, even if they're made up like :
"check this out, i was walking yesterday by the bus stop and (bla bla bla you get the point)
- If you see that the talk reached its peak and the only way is down, try to finish it there even if you have to lie for example :
"(talking, talking) well crap i gotta go, my friend just came to pick me up, well i'll talk with you soon"

I'm going to give you the same advice I give everyone.

Don't use text to game like you would when you're face to face. Make plans to meet up with her and THEN game her. If she's flirting with you via text already, feel free to flirt back, but refocus quickly on what your goal is: the meet up. Keep it short, simple and to the point.

Many a woman have been lost because guys don't have a solid text game.
