So there's this girl in my class who I have always been attracted to. I found out from a mutual friend recently that she's also attracted to me. We started chatting through the friend and now chat a fair bit in college because we're in some of the same classes. We're also now friends on Facebook.

I asked her if she'd like to come out with me some time a few days ago, and she said that she'd love to but she just broke up with her boyfriend on 2 years a few days earlier and thought it was too soon, but maybe in a little while if I was still interested. I was told by the mutual friend that she had been wanting to break up with the boyfriend for a while and wasn't into their relationship anymore so I think she was being genuine, and didn't want to say yes just out of respect to her ex.

When I see her now it's as if that never happened, and we're still chatting away (occasionally on facebook chat too), but nothing seems to be progressing. To be honest, I'm starting to worry that she's losing interest. She told me that she's going on a particular night out next week, which would be the perfect opportunity to chat to her in a more social setting, where we'll both be drinking so we can let our guard down. I'm not sure whether or not to go now though, as I don't want to seem like I'm pursuing her too hard and being desperate. Any thoughts?
