See a girl standing on the sidelines by herself. Approach and say something friendly with a smile. She takes one glance, gives the fakest smile you ever saw, and turns around or walks away. This has happened to me a couple of times.

Given such a pissy response, I've always just tried to ignore it and move on, but it's very demoralizing. I know I'm an attractive guy and I don't know why a girl would be such a total bitch without knowing a thing about me. Is it better to just immediately cut ones losses short, or try to keep pushing through it -- like, "Hey, didn't you come here to have a good time?" with a cocky funny smile. The only thing is that she might continue to be a complete bitch and just draw more attention to the blowoff.

looks don't really matter for guys that much. Maybe you need to work on your body language or style.

Your body language and/or voice tonality are probably terrible. Work on it.

The above. is true But also, girls standing on the sidelines may already be uncomfortable/shy/etc. You know, people on this forum sometimes seem to forget that the average girl is just as socially inept as the average guy. If a super confident girl approaches an AFC (dunno why but maybe it happens) he's going to mess it up. He's gonna be all insecure and he knows he is going to mess it up real soon so he's probably going to run away the first chance because that's the only way he can save face towards his friends. Well, you don't seriously think women don't suffer from comparable insecurities, right?

By the way, why would you approach the wallflowers in favour of one in the middle who actually knows how to have fun and handle a cocky approach?

Either way if you're hellbent on approaching these types, it's not impossible that you may be too confident/present/intimidating. You say you're an attractive guy, that scares insecure girls just as much as attractive girls scare insecure guys. Get your AFC on when you approach wallflowers (but remain confident in a non-intimidating way). Don't do negs, don't say anything too challenging and don't kino in the first few minutes of the convo. Be interesting and try to game her like a friend for a few minutes at least.

Remember that there is only a light correlation between attractiveness and personality. A HB8 may have exactly the same amount of insecurity and self-image as the HB4. The only difference between the two is that low self-esteem on the part of the HB4 is kind of justified (almost any hb can make it to 6 or 7 with some effort , it's not cruel to say that imo) while on the HB8's part it is not but then again she doesn't know that. You know you shouldn't neg HB4's because it will break their frail little hearts, but sometimes that is the case also for the HB8+.

To summarize, treat wallflower HB8 as if she was a HB4 and you may have more succes.
