Okay I've been using this for a little while now and I've had some great results engaging sets. I created this out of a situation I got myself into. Some of the best openers come from life experiences. Here it is. Feel free to borrow and field test.

J SMOOTH - "I need a female opinion on something...But I can only stay for a second. My friend met this girl downtown last night and they clicked, so they hung out for a few hours. Well, she wants to take him out for a "romantic" (Emphasize this) evening. The hitch is she wants him to wear a blindfold when she picks him up, would you do it?"

YES - "You'd let someone you've known a whole 2 hours blindfold you? I'll be watching you..."

NO - "You have no sense of adventure and romance do you?"

Next Thread Please

I hope you all get the results I have with it.

haha I love the question. the way i see things is that if "I" find it as interesting conversation and I would engage in someone who asked me it, they will enjoy it as well.

as for the responses, i think you can come up with better but it's all on personal preference either way.

I think i would say:

yes
PUA: wow really? what happens if she takes him to some alley and kills him!
HB: that's not going to happen!
PUA: yea or they end up in outerspace where she attempts to do some kind of alien abduction or something. see that wouldn't happen if his eyes were open *smile*

haha I'm a fan of saying random things and making up random events that can't possibly come true, it always gets them to laugh.

if they say no, you should use a lighter neg or they might find you insulting. something simple like "i guess you're not the adventurous type?" in a very sincere voice will get them going. they will probably immediately qualify because:
1. you seem like a nice guy (because you are sincere and your body language, clothes and smile should say so)
2. you also have a sense of adventure (you approached them and you just asked about an adventurous topic)
3. you seem mysterious because you just displayed two types of personality, a seemingly nice one and a outgoing type...

there's my 2 cents. i like the question though, but i'm trying to get away from the opinion openers. i use them later on because it extends small talk into longer conversations, but I try to be genuine with openers... and I try to seem friendly and outgoing. Opener openers got many sets that I've opened skeptical of my intentions, they even tell me about the pick up artist on VH1 (i pass the shit tests in various ways, sometimes I act surprised that people actually "do that" haha). and other times it goes like this

HB: I thought your intentions were to get my number, but then I realized that you're generally an outgoing guy. (social proof/preselection in DHV stories)

then i neg them and say

PUA: "whoa whoa whoa, so i'm not going to get your number, mann i should just walk away right now" *smile on my face, but still acting confident and like it doesn't really matter*

then the conversation shifts on to phone numbers and whether or not i'm going to get it.... which i carefully watch for IOIs and how to act accordingly

Thanks Casual, I'll try the responses you suggested this evening and let you know how it goes. I like the alien abduction thing especially! I'll get a lot of laughs on that one.

I like it because it DHV's a little by showing I have outgoing, attractive friends as well.

I'D LOVE OTHER OPIONS AS WELL

Thanks again,

J SMOOTH

Textbook. Good stuff, unique opinion opener with time constraint. And it concerns something a lot of girls will respond to. Anything relating to relationships or romance can lead to a nice opinion opener

Well like Casual, I’ve never been too big on opinion openers. When I approach a set I prefer to do it after I’ve done worked the room a bit making casual talk with people socializing and showing some sort of social proof.

I usually don’t approach a set till I’ve got some IOI’s from a potential target, such as eye contact especially if I’m in a club or bar, then I excuse myself from my group and approach her.

“When you approach from a group you are not a random guy but an ambassador. To reject you she would have to reject your people. But in this case she has already invited you with her eyes. It’s all good.”-Juggler

But as far as the question goes it’s a great opener, but after I’ve made my approach and made an introduction to the new set, I’d say something more along the lines of:

PUA- “ I got a question for you guys.”

Them- “ Ok, shoot!”

PUA- “It’s going to sound kind of odd, but, I was wondering, would you let someone you've known a whole 2 hours blindfold you?”

Lol this is the funny part cause they’ll probably give you a strange look and start laughing.

Them- “Uhh, I don’t know, all depends on the circumstances I guess, or whatever blah blah blah……”

PUA- “ I was just asking because a friend of mine ……..”

Then after your story they’ll probably have a different opinion of the question given the scenario. Then I would start the Negs, but that’s just me and how I would handle it, everyone has there own style when it comes to opening so that part my friend is all you.

I by no means consider myself a consultant on the subject matter, and as far as your material, I do like it, I think it’s a good opener. Good luck.

Draven

Thanks Draven! I'll try it that way next time and see how it does, tweaking is always a good idea. I used it a few times tonight and they were hooking on it pretty well.

Where are you located in TN?
