Study French, because in some part of Canada they use french and some other parts of Europe too! ..

German might be a good pick too. The Germans are very strong in the field of Industrial Engineering as far as I know! :)

French is the right choice. Mainly because everywhere/everything that matters (so this would be Europe and North America for places and NATO, US gvmt, Euro parliament, United Nations etc for things) have English and/or French as official languages. Spanish does not enjoy this benefit. So if you want to add value to your resume, French is the way to go.

Another benefit to French which I like is that you can speak it except in France and Canada and have a very good chance that nobody will know what you are saying. In the US Spanish will be more readily understood (and no this is not a drawback because everybody speaks English also in those areas).

Either way, if you speak fluent French more than half of the effort of learning Spanish is already made. Especially because Spanish has many fewer exceptions and general needless complexities it seems much easier to go from French to Spanish than the other way around.

I think French people generally have a huge respect and appreciation for their language. Unfortunately I don't think the rest of the world feels the same way.
