| Coffee with Korean Girl
I just got back from the party we went to. I'm going to start from the beginning and say every thing I can remember. This date went WAY better than the one with brunette girl.
I leave my place at around 5:20pm. I'm late and it's rush hour. She calls me at around 5:33pm and says she's going to be at the library. I get to school at around 5:45pm. I call her but there's no signal so I park and walk up and find her. As we walk to my car, I ask her how was her class? And she said she it was good and that she was making maps. She talks with an accent so I acted like I didn't hear her. I leaned in closer and just said what??? She said maps again. I leaned in closer and was like what??? Meth?? You're making meth??? You druggie! And pushed her a little. She just laughed and said noooo maps!! And I just let it go. Then we got to my car and we drove into the city.
As we were driving I remember I didn't know what to talk about so I just kept silent for a bit. Then randomly I was like "do you know this area? Where's the closest Starbucks?" And she was like "Umm.... maybe." I just replied "you're supposed to be my navigator, we're supposed to be a team!" I then nudged her arm some. And she said "okay, I think the closest one is this way." Then we took a wrong turn but I knew the area. And I was just like "gosh! we took a wrong turn and it's all your fault!" She just smiled and laughed. Then I turned and she was like "oh, we're here!"
In the Starbucks, we were standing in line and she asked me what I was going to get since I don't drink coffee and she knew from last time we went with our other classmate. I just said "I don't know, what are you getting?" She said "Hazelnut latte" I just listed a bunch of different flavors and asked how they were. A different friend said she liked green tea and I was thinking about getting that but Korean Girl said she didn't like it. I was also thinking about getting a pumpkin spice since I enjoyed it last time but she said she didn't like that either. So I ended up getting a Vanilla Latte with the intention of trying her Hazelnut and her drinking some of mine (I forgot to do this). While we were waiting we stood nearby a sign for pumpkin spice and she said she's never tried it before. To which I replied with "What?? You said you didn't like it! But you've never tried it!" She just laughed and smiled more.
Then we went next door to a grocery store to buy chips for the party. We wandered around the store some and I asked her some what she liked questions. She said she liked everything except green tea and giggled. We wandered into the back where the meat section was and there were some free samples. I walked up, grabbed one, turned around and handed it to her. She took it and I took one for myself. Then we went to the chip isle and I asked her what kind of chips she liked. She pointed to Lays and I said oh okay walked passed them. (I actually probably should've bought those. I like them too and they were on sale. Awkward.) But I kept walking forward and looked for the ones on sale. I got Spicy Doritos and regular Mission chips and was looking for a third kind. Then she pointed out Hint of Jalapenos Tostitos. And there was a coupon on the bag if we bought salsa. So I picked up those. I asked her what kind and she said she's never had salsa before. But she's had Mexican food like Chipotle. So I just got medium. Then we went to the check out. And I brought out money and was looking in my pockets for change when she just brought out another dollar. But I just said no and took out another dollar from my wallet. (I don't know if this was good or bad.) But then we left.
Then we drove over to the party. When we got there there was only two other people. The girl hosting and another girl. I wouldn't really say it was a party. More like just a social gathering. So at the house, she had a dog and cat. When the dog came over to me, I picked her up and put it in front of Korean Girl's face as kind of a joke. (Maybe it wasn't the best joke.) But everyone else laughed. Then while we were standing around, I noticed she would stand a little bit closer to me or stand nearby me. Maybe that's just what I saw and she was doing it unconsciously and it means nothing but that's just what I noticed.
We then moved to sit on stools around the counter and ate chips. (She said she liked the chips and salsa.) She sat next to me. She was being quiet so occasionally, I would bring her into the conversation and asked for her opinion. I would lightly tap her arm with the back of my hand and ask her a question. At one point she poured a drink and didn't like it. She offered me to try it and I did. We just talked and ate chips as three more people joined us. Then we decided to play Apples to Apples.
I moved by myself to the dining room area and was sorting the cards as more people followed me. (I felt like I was leading everyone here.) Then she sat next to me again. While we played, I noticed her leg would touch mine and I would leave it there as she would do the same. For those of you who don't know Apples to Apples, it's a game where you get red cards in your hands that are nouns and you're supposed to use those cards to try to fit the green card which is an adjective. And if the person who's turn it was picked your noun you got the green card. At the end of the game, the green cards are supposed to define you. So when it was my turn, my green card was sweet. I just thought it was kind of cool that she put down supermodels and I picked it. So sweet defined her.
Then some people had to leave and we moved back to the counter where we ate more chips and just talked. She sat next to me again. At one point, I got up and went to get water then returned to my seat next to her. When the host's mom came back home, I initiated a conversation about her work. Korean Girl's feet were against my stool as my hand would occasionally brush her leg. At one point, when my hand was on her leg, I decided to squeeze that part near the knee cap that's kind of a ticklish part. And she tried to push my hand away. I would just smile while continue looking and talking to the mom as if I wasn't doing anything. Then she got up, took my water out of my hand and drank it and handed it back then walked away.
Then it was time to leave. In the car, we talked some more. I forget what the conversation was about but at one point I gave her a light shove and she shoved me back. Then I returned it a second time and she returned a second time. I wasn't sure how to end it because the tension was building. I just said "ok ok". Does anyone have any good recommendations for how to end this? Because I feel like it's the same in the kino escalation video when Mystery gets into a neg war with the girl until the tension builds and he finally just goes "okay get in here" and hugs her. I feel like I can't do that while in the car. Anyone?
Oh I forgot, before we left the host girl was looking up movie times and invited us to see Paranormal Activity 3 tomorrow night after class. I'm a total wuss when it comes to scary movies. Like I will have nightmares so I want to decline but Korean Girl was like "come onnnn you should go" I think I will go... just because of her. But yah.
When we got to her place, I just dropped her off and she just opened the door and said bye and closed it. I didn't get a hug at all but I feel like what I built was good. So my questions now are like how do I get to that hug comfort level? Also I didn't really do anything in the video like I intended to. No thumb wars, no handshakes, no twirling around. Another thing, if we continue like this at what point can I kiss her? I feel like this isn't the right place to be like "do you want to kiss me?" Or maybe it is...? Also if we continue like this at what point are we boyfriend/girlfriend? Or maybe I shouldn't worry about that yet.
Anyways, this post is long enough. Thoughts?
