Anyway, I went out tonight and ran some opens, mostly to get into the habit of it. They didn't go well, which is to be expected on some level as I've only gone a couple rounds. I went to a particularly noisy club and I feel like the music sound level made it difficult for my normal openers which require more speech than the club would tolerate.
I'm hoping for some advice on noisy club openers (probably shorter). I know one answer is: "Choose a quieter place" and I will, but the opportunity count in that place was awesome and I would hate to throw it away because I don't know how to open with fewer words...
A lot of people were using fast, direct openers. Those people were failing.
