I'm usually pretty decent at text game but sometimes a girl will text me something like 'you're funny!' and I never know what to do with that.

Just now I received a text saying 'I like you, you're pretty funny!' and then some stuff about pasta (not that important).

I'm completely stumped at what to reply.

I would just go with something simple like "Yeah, I know, but that doesnt mean you get a free pass into my pants"

and feel the sexual tenstion building up. After you send the text, there would be a gap of few seconds or minutes before she replies. And in those few minutes or seconds you would feel the sexual tenstion and she would feel it too. Rewarding them for good behaviour and going silent for a few minutes or seconds generates huge amount of sexual tenstion and by rewarding them you are commanding their behaviour to show more and more interest in you.
