Then you are already ahead of the field and theres not much more this site can help you with, except reinforcing some of the basic fundamentals, that give you the tools to step up your game to some next level shit.

For those of you who dont understand this, then maybe this site can help you learn it eventually, through a slow process of learning for yourself from experience and gradual improvement that will get you there aswell.

I can't agree with that. First women say a lot of stuff about what they want, but it isn't necessarily reality. Second, it's boring. Lots of people say hi. Why should she respond to your hi any different than all the others, giving you a courtesy hi back and walking off. Another line or something is required to grab her attention a little longer. All that said there is one thing you are right about, almost. The opener doesn't matter. Most people won't even remember what you first said, unless it was an amazing opener. The best lines are not the openers, its what comes after the opener to get her to want to talk to you some more, hang out, kiss, whatever your goals are. Thats where it really matters. Has just saying hi to someone ever been successful for you? Or any opener?

"Hi" is fantastic, but it still has to be followed up with some kind of content (opener), otherwise it will be awkward silence and kill the set.

Exactly what the two above said, anyone at all can walk up to another human being and say hi.

It's how interesting and fun you come across afterwards that seals the deal.
And THAT is what places like this site help with, to make you feel comfortable and confident to be funny and have a good conversation. You can make the biggest AFC go up to a girl and say hi.. Then he freezes?

Which women? Teenagers, early 30's, elderly?
Does this refer solely during the day or night time? Maybe the situation; possibly a night club, the park or the swimming pool?

Personally, I fail to see how "Hi" could intrigue someone enough in order to generate a conversation in any situation.

Your aim with a pick up line, or an opener, should be to set yourself aside from others, while engaging the person. Be unique. "Hi" is simply lazy and predictable.

It would pain me, to be a woman, and endure an endless string of "Hi"'s and "Hey"'s all night long! For your sake, and theirs as well, say something different.

However, I think I understand what you are trying to say.
Yes, maybe it is an effective, safe first line. Especially for those with Approach Anxiety, and freeze on the spot when they arrive face to face with the woman. "Hi" will break that silence. But then what? Something will have to follow up on that "Hi", which means that it is fairly useless if you do not plan on opening with more to say.

But if it works for you, then by all means, go for it!
Certain lines work for certain people.

P.S - If you must use "Hi", at least go for a more uplifting alternative, such as "Hello" or "Hey"..Or maybe, why not greet her in an obscure foreign language? If she is unsure what you just said, explain it. That in itself could generate a conversation.
