ye man im the same way. I have no problem approaching women but I lack in making a convo interesting. It was and still is the main reason I have AA.. The approach is the easy part, but I am always worried that once I start the convo it will go dry and end awkwardly.

I have friends who can talk about nothing for hours and make it the most interesting stuff you've ever heard. The more I go out and the more that I make mental notes of what people say/do the better I think I am getting.

I am a hilarious guy when I am with my business partners or family because I am so comfortable. I am just having trouble feeling that comfortable around strangers.

Start reading some speech tips. Your stories can be intensified by slowing down speech, creating cliffhangers, pauses, ...
Listen to the tricks your mates use. Watch their general posture and stuff. What they're saying is probably utterly boring but they make it interesting by everything else that's not content.

Here's a real good guide for people who are new to the community: http://www.bosproject.com/index.php?tid=wheretostart

There's a lot of info there, so take your time and practice what you learn. A common mistake for people is to overload themselves with information they don't even get to use.

Practice inner game too. Do not concentrate on pick-up lines and routines only since they tend not to work when your confidence and self-esteem are low.

Have fun with the learning process, and keep an open mind for everything. Becoming good with women is not an overnight process, so be determined to learn and you should get amazing results.

Hope it helps :)

Good advice.
