Met a girl on campus today and walked with her home (coincidentally we leave near each other). I told her we should get lunch together sometime at which she responded "i just got out of a 5 year relationship, so i'm kind of a wreck right now". That being said, I gave her my number, and then she said she would give me hers which she did. Her phone is BROKEN right now, and she said she is going into the verizon store to get a new phone very soon. I know there isn't much I can do now but do you think I should shoot her a text for when she gets the new phone, or just wait for her?? We seemed to really kick it off today. Thanks.

In my eyes I see that as shes already seeing someone. You should improvise a little and start joking about her phone being broken or if you have one laying around then loan it to her, be a good friend. Dont stay in the Friend Zone too long though as it would lead to many troubles in the future when trying to get laid with her or even having a long term relationship.

Why wouldn't she tell you that? Women are willing to...no let me rephrase that...eager to use any means necessary to make sure she gets "let off the hook" as easily as possible.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but the fact is that she probably isn't that interested in you if she didn't try to find a way to connect with you after your little walk home. I would just say don't worry about it and if you see her on campus, say hello and maybe strike up a new conversation (that is, if she's hot and you want her that bad).

In any case, a girl who tells lies is not uncommon and it's often just to take the easy way out. It's easier for her to tell you "my phone is broken" than "I really don't want to go to lunch with you." Or maybe her phone IS broken and it was a great excuse.

Either way, she's not worth any more than the five minutes you've spent talking to her. My advice: NEXT!
