I lost mine when I was 21. I thought it was a big deal and was waiting for an amazing girl with whom I was in love. I found that person, and then finally had sex with her and found out that losing my virginity wasn't a big deal at all. I remember thinking afterward "hmm...I don't feel any different."

I can't really say if it's something that I'm proud of or not, because I don't really think of it like that. I can't say that I ever look back on it at all. It really isn't the big deal that we make it out to be.

I think sex is much more emotional than physical. If you and your partner- or even just you- haven't had sex until you're married, then your wedding night will be the best of your life. Also you're much more likely to get a divorce if you have pre-marital sex. (Am i as good as his previous sexual partners?)

I think it just makes marriage that bit more special, respectful, and a sound base for the upbringing of a family.

I think you missed the point. Nobody is saying that sex isn't a big deal; sex is fucking awesome. What we are saying is that losing one's virginity is not a big deal.

Many of us, including myself, thought that our virginity was something to treasure and only give away to the right girl at the right time. But, once we lost it, we didn't feel like we had lost anything, and realized that having our virginity was not so special after all.

I honestly still don't feel like sex is a big deal.. i'm sure it's "special" with someone you "love", but that whole concept is irrelevant to me, being a horny 20 year old who wants to f-close anything that moves.
