Basically I have found that the easiest (and most successful in my opinion) way to approach a HB in a loud setting, such as a party or club is to use "Cheers!" as an opener.

I just walk up any HB with a drink in hand and say "Cheers!" and as long as you continue on with some mid-game or another opener it works 99.9% of the time.
