Let's say you're at a party and the hostess introduces you to a female friend of hers. If you're introduced in this way does that mean you can go straight to A2? I mean, there's no use of an opener if you're already talking...?

It means you can game her, that's all. Mystery Method can be confusing, for that very reason, you don't know when to go from one stage to another. Conversation and kino escalation covers 90% of mystery method, and you don't need to make a flow chart :)

Instead of thinking of A2, C3 and all that, you should focus on just talking to her friend and making your moves, and seeing where it takes you.

Don't worry so much about the method, that you become a sitting duck when you don't how what to make out of things as simple as basic introductions.
