I like reading your posts. Simple, no drama, open-minded, desire to learn, funny. . . You're going to get the hang of this real quick. Let's get to work:
Quote:
Me: Hey I'm gonna go but give me your number and we'll go get a drink sometime
Her: I'm actually sort of seeing someone right now.
This is a great start. If you've been chatting with her the whole time (having fun, sharing a conversation) and she brings mentions 'boyfriend' when you ask for her number, BOYFRIEND is what she has in mind. Believe me, she doesn't bring up the boyfriend thing if she thinks you're a zero.
Secondly, you blind-sided her and she simply came up with a 'nervous answer'. She likes you just as much as you like her. She's somewhat nervous too. However, there's nothing leading up to the "number+drink" request. Until then, it was just a casual chat about 'nothing'. How about next time, seed the topic by already discussing bars + cocktails, etc . . . She goes, "Wow, that club is awesome. I love that place." Then you go, "Cool, let's check it out on Saturday." (Make it HER idea . . .)

Me: (I decided to neg her) What exactly do you think you can get with me. I need to be wined and dined..
Her: Well, I'm actually not seeing anyone, but I don't really drink unless I go to clubs with friends.
Every guy has, that "I got her" moment. For me, this would have been it. You already peeled away the outer skin of her onion. At this point, all you needed to do is just smile and keep peeling away . . . which is what you did . . . but . . .

Me: Well anyway my friends are waiting for me, so if you don't wanna hang out that's fine, take care
Everything up to this point was fine. However, you did all the work but chose to not get her number. This is like working all day and refusing the paycheck. Go to a McD's and order a quarter pounder. What does that kid behind the register ask you?
1. You probably don't want a drink so the total is 3 bucks.
2. Would you like a drink?
3. Would you like fries?
4. Would you like a Coke and Fries with that and make it a meal?
These phrases are in their manual because psychologists/consultants were paid millions of dollars to create verbal interactions that raise revenue. People DO NOT make choices. Ask them to get the coke and they get the coke instead of sprite. That girl did not CHOOSE to say that she had a boyfriend. This was a habitual reaction that she commonly takes when somebody surprise pop questions her for a number. . . and you managed to go beyond her habitual defensive mechanisms.
Now, the only thing left to do was to create a 'fun event'. She mentioned 'friends' + 'Clubs'. So you casually introduce your friends as if it was nothing. Then tell your buddies, "Hey can you give me a second here? Meet me outside." (Let them do whatever the immature thing they want to do. Don't worry about it. She'll perceive you to be more mature the less mature you're friends are.) Just tell her, "Ahh . . . can't take those kids any where . . ."
Then you just offer her the "Coke and Fries". "Sorry, my friends are probably dorkier than yours but they're usually more fun at clubs. How about we all check out ____ club on Friday?" GET THE NUMBER. Done. This completes yet another layer of the onion peeled off. The point here was to get the number. Sure, you can follow through with the whole gang at the club deal but once you get the number, share a few texts, calls, you could toss out a lame excuse for the group thing and take her out. Also, even if you went out as a group, you'd score with her. That's just the way this whole thing was set up . . .

Also, I really need a decent attraction story to say after an opener
For now, just keep bringing up real life fun ideas. Bars, clubs, restaurants, events, etc . . . Even crazy things like surfing in Hawaii, skiing in France, etc . . . If she's into any of those crazy ideas, you go, "Cool, we are so going diving in Australia next year." (Even though this is a stupid, probably will never happen agreement, you just got her to say YES, in excitement) You're molding her new, 'good girl' habits. Her answer is yes, yes, yes. What would you like your last question to be?
