Let me give some background first:

For the past year, I have seen this one girl walking around campus, but she is always with her female companions, so I get too nervous to approach her. She is friends of some of my friends, but we have never been introduced let alone talked to eachother. Finally after a year I have a class with her. It is a very boring 3 hour long lecture/movie time. I see her all the time at the gym and walking to class.

Now for my question. How should I approach her, and A) not come off as creepy/stalkerish and B) Build attraction that is lacking to begin with. I hear she is somewhat shallow, and quite frankly im not the best looking guy on campus.

just make a campus party and invite:
-her friends
-your friends
-herself
-other guys

Well, try to grab a seat next to her(preferably) and start talking to her.

"Seemed to be having a bit of a staring contest over the year." and deliver that with a non-chalant smirk.

If she has noticed you too, that will get a smile out of her and well, game her as usual.

Don't worry too much about her friends, if they feel you're a 'fine guy', they won't be cock-blockers. If they are still be difficult, try to catch the girl at a time when she is rid of her friends.
