Wow... So I went to a birthday party tonight, and I met with some friends plus some strangers (there were barely any girls). We were chilling, and I see this guy go approach a 3 set almost immediately. They start laughing and we all know he's in.
No one knew what PUA was, other than me and another guy, and I immediately recognized that, and talked to him when he came back.
Apparently, his opener is: "Hi".
He told me that sooner or later, (and after some pain), you'll get used to say something, otherwise you'll look stupid.

So we decided to leave that birthday party and go clubbing with some other friends and practice some game.

We went to "CITY" night club, Toronto GTA.

Having a wingman, or at least someone watching you, makes you want to approach more often. Maybe its because it is in our emotional circuitry, or I don't know, but the fact that I knew that these guys would still be my friends even when I failed, made me feel much better.

Openers :"Hi". I either say something or get blown off. Specially in loud environments.

Lesson 1: Knowing that you have someone to go back to after failing, makes it easier. The words "You failed, yes, but I'm still your friend" is the most valuable gift a wingman can give to make you feel better.

We approached several groups near the dance floor (the hot girls were all dancing), tried talking, but we eventually got blown off sooner or later. What were we doing wrong? What's going on?

Theory 1: We think that near the dance floor, PEOPLE WANT TO DANCE, don't try having a FULL CONVERSATION near a dance floor, if you know that no matter how strong you speak, people won't be able to concentrate. People around you are all dancing... EVERYONE... how weird do you look just standing there talking?...
Approach a set, and after having a small chit chat, and reaching the HOOK POINT (they don't want you to leave), by default say: hey, wanna dance?+Kino OR Isolate to a quieter place. This should happen within 1-2 minutes.
Obviously, in the dance floor, tall guys are probably going to win. I saw nice guys CONSTANTLY just approaching a girl dancing and she responding openly. I tried... but I guess I'm either a bad dancer or ugly... I'll try again next time.
*Any other solutions to this problem when opening girls near dance floors? Do looks/height matter when approaching a girl while dancing? Can a lesson be drawn from here?

I couldn't find a single set near the bars, everyone was dancing. So I couldn't practice any actual conversations. MUSIC WAS SO LOUD, MY EARS HURT.
I really want to go to a bar or lounge, where I can have a conversation and practice my real game.

If you have any comments/any corrections, all appreciated. I am here to learn, and I know I can be wrong.

Hey man, welcome to the game!

I wouldn't use "Hi" as an opener, because I've got no where to go with it conversationally. When I go direct I say "Hey, you guys seem cool. Except you..." then I can cold read and kino.

The key to picking up in loud environments (and generally) is body language. I pickup ALOT of girls on the side of dance floors. My wingman, who is good, has trouble in loud environments too. My game is to lock in to the set by making myself more comfortable than the rest of the set. Then just use heavy kino to make yourself close to your target.

Glade

hey emotions,

welcome to the game! like glade and skills said said, club game is different, especially when dancing is involved. you can't just roll up to girls if they're already dancing and spit verbal game. it's too loud and if girls wanna dance then they'd rather dance than talk. the loud music is working against you so body language is key when doing approaches on the dance floor. and just like verbal game, looks don't really matter all that much - just don't look like an afc. again body language is key. check out this guys blog, it's got some good stuff in it that may help you with your dance floor questions: http://www.flirt2thebeat.com/category/news/
