I had this realization while doing the newbie quest at a mall. I was looking around for women to have conversations with. Problem was seems like all the girls there are barely 18 if they even are, I'm 26 (I know late in the game). I did notice some that were and have no problem at least saying hi. Anyone got any tips of good ways to make sure I'm not trying to make conversation with jailbait.

Although I did find a great way to start off talking to people to help with the nervousness. Walk up to girl that have to talk to you back, such as the people working in the stores. You don't have to hit on them just make a conversation. Thought that might help someone.

Why not chat up even the underage girls? For the newbie mission, you're not having sex with these girls, just starting conversations. Nothing illegal with talking to them. That's a sign of the subconscious self-consciousness that the Newbie Mission will get rid of in time.

Besides, I've always wanted to update the Newbie Mission to be talking to everyone. I'm talking the cashiers, old people, really old people, waving at babies in their carts, saying "hey" to guys as well as girls of all ages. It's just to get out there and not be so self conscious.

I guess I didn't think of it that way, when you say it like that it doesn't sound nearly as illegal.

If you proposition them, then you're seriously twisted and have some issues to work out. But otherwise, worst case scenario is that people give you a couple funny looks, which is an excellent outcome for an exercise that's supposed to test how comfortable you are with people thinking of you as different/weird.
