We met for drinks and the conversation was one of the best I've had with a woman in a long time. Not so sure anymore though.

I texted her that we should meet up again, and she responded with "Thanks again. I'll touch base with you when I get back in town..." She was going to a family reunion far away.

How would you deal with this ? It seems to me it's almost a lost cause, but maybe I'm being too harsh about it. I'm just kind of surprised based on how well the date went.

Whats so hard to understand she said she'll get back to you, your sounding needy. Rather than sitting on your hands and waiting for her why don't you go on some more dates?

She said she get back in touch with you when she's back in town. Give her the opportunity to do that, first.

Why delete the number? She's definitely not sending you any negative signals or anything. She's got a lot on her mind, because of her reunion, so naturally the guy she just met isn't as big of a priority right now. But wait a while and she'll be back.

The only other option is that it's a complete blow off tactic (unlikely), in which case there's nothing I would recommend you can do, so who cares?

In either case, you had an awesome first date with a woman. Great! Find another one to have an equally great time with!
