Hey guys,
So I wanted to go out and try the newbie mission tomorrow with a friend.
Is it ok to do it as 2 people? I'd feel a lot more comfortable (but still uncomfortable enough so that I'm learning).
One more thing: This is a friend who, even though he is more socially awkward than me, he gets women's attention by his looks.
Should I be doing it with someone like that or would it do more damage than good?

it depends:

if you go out for the newbie mission, and you and your mate are motivating each other to game, then it is good :)

But if you two just stick together (because it feels safe/comfortable) you will not open a set!!!

I'm talking about actually doing it, not backing down.
One more things, if the simple "hi" doesn't work, any good openers that will?
I'm talking about day game at a mall.

Excuse me, nice dress. Where did you buy it? I was looking for a birthday present for my sister.

Would something like this work?:
Excuse me, nice dress. Where did you buy it? I was looking for a birthday present for myself.

A bit cynical and funny?

It sounds like you're mocking her choice of wardrobe.

Edit: If you are into natural game and don't have a sister, you can change that to a female friend/co-worker.

Hmmmm. Oh well, so just something to open a regular conversation.
So, this is my question:
In the mall I want to go to, there are around 1000 coffee shops, juice bars etc. More or less everyone in the county has been in this mall at least a few times.
Would me asking something in the lines of: "Where is the best place to get a drink here?" not be a bit obvious?

Also, no one commented on the situation with my friend, so is it okay? Or do I need to replace him with someone else?

Like the other guy said, having a friend can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation. If your friend is your wingman, sure. If he's just your average chump then no. The last thing you want is your friend making a fool out of you by saying the wrong things.

If your friend a naturally talented with woman, he can be your wing. If your friend is no experience with woman but has been reading on PUA stuff, then he can try to be your wing. The point is to have someone who you can be comfortable gaming with. If you bring along a friend who has never seen you game or does not know that you're trying to game. You will be deterred from making moves that seem "unshookie-like" in front of your friend. Which is often any sort of escalation moves.

If you ask her anything that requires her opinion, you are giving her more social value. It also wouldn't make sense for you to ask her when she finds out you live around there. If you are a really straight forward kinda guy, you can try a opener I saw PUA Grandma did - "Excuse me, do you know where I can find some good pizza around here?"..."Wa..wait..wait, you're too nice, I just came by to flirt".

Well, we're both noobs when it comes to the game.
Neither have us have ever done anything, except my friend getting some action by an older drunk girl a few months back (which doesn't count).
Either way, I think he'll be ok, I'll lay the ground rules for him.
Btw, the "unshookie-like" comment really made my morning :P

No because you're not serious about it. You are being straight forward with her and telling her your intentions straight away. Whatever question you ask her as a way to open set does not matter as long as it doesn't creep her out.

Any other good openers that might get them to start a conversation after I say "hello" and they say it back?
I'd love if someone could give me a few examples

So I went to the mall today, and sadly, all the girls I found there were a maximum of 15. Of course I couldn't do anything.
I'm disappointed. Don't know where else to go.

Dude,

if you approach a girl, you don't need a wingman or friend. But I can imagine with a friend feels more comfortable. And daygame is tough.

Let's do this:

You and your friend agree to open 5 girls each [setting objective goals]! The one who doesn't open 5 girls, has to buy the other beer for the whole night [incentive]!

When you open a set, the next set should be opened by your friend. Then it is your turn again. This will speed things up.

You approach a girl alone! After approaching you can come back to your friend.
