Here's the thing, the girl I like use to text me using terms of endearment like dear, hun, and what not with a lot of smiley faces. She also would hug me around the waist, put her arm around my shoulder, etc.. in real life. I'd say recently, we moved forward in real life when we both put an arm around each others' waist. But for a while now, her text got less smiley faces, she doesn't use those terms of endearment. What's going on?

You can't escalate and it turns her off that's what's going on.

Of course she wants to escalate, or did you think she hold any guy around his waist? That's a clear IoI. The fact that she is kinoing you is great but you need to pull the trigger grab her hands stop her and kiss her maybe put her hair behind her ear and go for the kill she clearly want(ed)s it.
