So the story basically goes like this. Me and three of my male freinds were hanging out at the park on a lovely sunny day. There were a few chicks here and there but nothing above HB6. So anyway i spot this girl sitting on her own, her back is facing towards us. I get encouraged by my freinds to go over so i do, she is about 30-40 metres from my group. I take 2 steps infront of her, turn round and open. And its basically downhill from there. I start by saying 'Hi, you alright' to which she responds 'Yeah' in an uninterested tone. I ask her what she is doing and she sais, 'Homework' and there were probably 10 other ways to respond to this better than the way i did. I just said is it good or bad? and she repied, 'err good?' so i knew i was failing at this point. Then rather stupidly i ask her if she wants to join me and my freinds before even asking her name or introducing. Unsurprisingly she replies with 'no'. i ask her if she is sure and she dosent even reply and turns away so im basically blown out at this point. So i say 'bye then' and atleast she says bye back to me. And i walk away in shame. She looks over a couple if times in the next hour and strangely she goes and swings on the swings by herself and shoots some hoops by herself with the ball that she had with her. Anyway lets hope i have more success in the future. just thought i'd share that with the forum.

Thats really good Kevin at least you had the balls to go and approach, what i suggest you do to get better is learn a few openers before you actually open. Google 'openers mystery method'.

Sometimes if the indirect environmental opener falls completely flat (you asked about her work and she was unresponsive) you can try a direct opener with much better results. After "err good?" where you saw that it wasn't going anywhere, the best strategy can be "Well actually I came over because I thought you were cute and wanted to talk to you. My name's Kevin"
She'll introduce herself and take notice of you, because you are one of the elite few who have the courage to talk to girls they don't know. You should then sit with her (mention that you have to leave in a minute) and ask questions, even "interview style" ones that PUAs say they hate.

That's a great start and it's good that you have friends that will work on this with you. Alternate picking sets for the other person to go and open and you'll be getting numbers in no time!
