I ran an opinion opener on a HB 8.5 and her friend last night in a club.

Me:
"Hey guys I was just talking to my friend, see her bf just dumped her. He said he loves her, but he's not 'in love with her', what's the difference?"

HB 8.5:
"Go ask Dr Phil"

Now I have to admit, it's pretty clever and funny. I actually laughed, but was blown out all the same. Do I treat this as a bitchshield?

I'm all up for some clever responses to this, but I'm more interested in dealing with bitch shields in general, as it's unlikely I'll get this exact response again. Anyone got any advice/links to that sort of thing?

I remember reading something once that said I should 'validate her' like, 'wow I like you're strong personality,' So I said that, but it wasn't that great, she just smiled.

Mystery recommends a neg. I couldn't think of one at the time, but I think, "You obviously don't get out much," may have been appropriate. Do negs work to disarm BShields?

I like to drop a neg to counter a bitch shield, or sarcasm. "well I didn't see him around...but you looked almost as full of hot air"

so how exactly did you get blown out?, she didn't tell you to leave, she didn't say GTFO, AWAY, BE GONE, or not answer you

should have just said YOU GOT TO GET REAL*mocking dr phil voice*, Dr.PHIL is divorced wtf does he know?

and continue convo, the only time your actually ever blown out is when
1)the girl leaves
2)the girl will not talk to you at all
3)the girl keeps telling you to leave over and over and is insulting you

Yep, a definite sticking point for me is leaving before she tells me to. She kept talking to her friend not interested, so I left. I KNOW this is AFC and that's why I'm here asking advice.. I really have to start sticking in till they actually ask me to leave! So here's the situation: it's a bitch shield, you've dropped that opener, she says, 'go ask doctor phil', you say 'I like her she's got a strong personality', she smiles then quickly continues talking to her friend, at which point I walk off.

If they give you a challenge like that you need to knock em down a little, dont be a dick but be witty and jab back just a little harder than they jabbed you. I wouldn't play nice and complement after a comment like that. but maybe thats just me

in this situation, i would take her comment "go and ask dr phil" and play with this comment.

May be its possible to say "Oh year Dr. Phil is my father he sai: ..... ..." Or something like that.

The girl has pulled you out of range, your new taget is to get her closer and start agin.

Seems a little try hard but I do well with the bad boy role so what ever feels natural, just make sure you challenge them.

you can knock her down using her own insult.

"Dr.Phil is your shrink? I thought I seen you leaving his office the other day."

That's something I would say. It's not that harsh, and it can be a great for call back humor.
