Should you ever say that phrase in the 1st text after n closing? My immediate response is, Hell no you shouldn't ever say that. But here's my situation:

Met a girl at a bar on saturday and we talked for a bit. I got her number and was gonna text her today. But I forgot to give her my number (I was pretty toasted that night), so I feel like I can't go straight into any phone game. Should I say anything like "Hey this is rassta, do you remember meeting me at *some bar* on sat?" That just sounds way too AFC. But the thing is I don't want to go straight to game and get the "Whose this?" response.

The number might already be dead, to be honest. Meeting a girl drunk at a bar and holding off for four days might just be too long. If she's hot, think about how man guys have hit on her since...

Anyways, don't ever ask 'remember me?' Instead, just hit her up with the typical "hey, sorry for getting back to you so late. awesome meeting you on saturday at xx..." Be fully prepared to hit the "whose this?" text. After that, I'd freeze her out for another 2-3 days and respond "Rassta, from xx. duh." That might be your best hope.

if you really want to text this girl, try throwing an inside joke in there to jog her memory. i usually have an inside joke or 2 (ie we give each other nicknames) so that i can distinguish myself fr. all the other guys hitting on her. otherwise, don't text "do you remember me?" b/c it implies that you aren't memorable. even if she doesn't remember you, act memorable.
