I chose mastery. Mastery requires hard work, dedication, and refining yourself. It builds a depth of character than no natural could dream of having. A master seducer of equal skill to a phenomenal natural is, in character, vastly superior in the same way that a self-made man is vastly superior to the heir of an old money family.
After giving that some thought, when you look at it from this perspective, would you rather be a natural fighter, or Bruce Lee?
You can be a natural and have all of these things. Not to mention that Bruce Lee was in fact very naturally gifted; he had a certain aptitude for martial arts that most men could never dream of. People don't like to believe this but it takes more than dedication and hard work to be a world class competitor in various, completely different styles of fighting. He was a junior boxing champion at around the same time he was studying Wing Chun with Yip Man, two forms of MA that are not all that similar. You can see this more in his son Brandon, who did
not as dedicated as his father.
I'd rather be a natural but that doesn't mean I'm not going to work as hard. Look at Nicholas Cage, a man who does come from an old Hollywood family but is still "vastly superior" to the majority of actors out there. Sure he can't pick good roles for shit but he's still quite talented.
