Mack, you have been highlighting my only problem with the OP in the last couple posts so I just couldn't help chiming in.
It's not just about being confident and/or sexual, its about personal responsibility. The difference to me between an AFC and a PUA isn't whether they have respect for women, or game, even. There are only 2 things that truly distinguish them:
1. AFCs believe women are better than they are, PUAs believe in equality
2. AFCs blame the world, society, and every woman who ever turned him down for any problems he has with women. If a PUA is having a hard time, he looks internally, sees if he has done anything wrong, and addresses himself for weaknesses.
I had a great relationship with my dad, but he never had a talk with me about relationships. He let me figure shit out on my own. It had its positives and negatives. In high school I was miserable and I blamed everyone around me. I blamed the culture of the stereotypical US public high school and the lack of people with similar ideologies. Yeah, there were a lot of dicks there, but I was also a jackass who thought I was smarter than everybody else. I avoided drugs and alcohol but a kid who had one beer while watching a football game was the same as someone who skipped a class to snort a line of coke.
Pickup is a way to start the evolution of a person, socially. It's not about banging a dozen girls every month. I really dont' want that, personally. You can't just wake up and be confident, unfortunately, just like you can't wish yourself to be rich, or thin. And Pickup isn't a quick fix. It's just one method of being happier.
THANK YOU! Can I kiss your feet? Seriously though, I was in your shoes. I had bad rolemodels and very little social interaction/experience until recently. What spurred the change? I read some PUA material and the stuff I learned spilled over into other areas of my social life. Not only did I get laid, I got a great girlfriend, kept her for 7 months, had more sex that I could have ever imagined possible, and made a TON of new friends (over 137 in 4 months). So yes, PUA definitely works.
And Mack, I wasn't hatin' I was just asking because I wanted to make sure that I was seeing the grand scheme of things correctly and not just viewing it through a pair of rose colored glasses.
