Hardly. In fact most of my success in this area has probably been more of a case of in the right place at the right time. For example, the first time was with two girls it was when they were moving away and it was their going away party. (should I be so lucky) shared the same one attractive-one plain theme. Which broke the "this is fun" to "this is really going down" thing the one girl had going on.
To other times where I picked up two girls I knew were bi and roommates at a house party. I focused on the one girl and the other just sort of followed along as we walked back to their place and shared a bed. Although, this was another near miss when the one girl didn't want to share me and made me wait until her roommate left for work in the morning before she slept with me. Which I actually got a lot of shit about from my friends since she was a stripper and I kept calling her by her stage name because I couldn’t remember her actual name.
And I’m not going to even go into the girl who wanted to run a star wars role-play with my buddy and myself (who freaked out at the whole notion and called in a favor to have me leave him alone with her).
Anyway, the point is most of this stuff is about pattern recognition and calibration. If you want to keep improving you have to spot the patterns and adjust accordingly.
