Can someone explain what frame control is, and how it applies to pickup?

I disagree. I know that you don't literally mean actually saying to people what to do, but it's way more subtle. Frame control is about maintaining your own frame or state of mind (I'm a happy celebrity man, yay), and if you are succesful at this people automatically adopt your state of mind (we are all happy, yay). This signals two things to your target: 1) this is a fun guy to hang out with. Should stay where he is. 2) He is not easily intimidated by others. I'll give credit where it is due: in the section 'Inner game and related stuff' on this forum, there's an interesting post on frame control. This also elaborates on my second point.
