Chivalry - everyday, all day... never done me wrong.. but this is a personal want coming from within me.

I just think it's the "right" thing to be ... everybody's different.. I've never had a problem with it assuming your are conveying enough masculine polarity.

i agree, i also feel like its the right thing to do...but it seems to me like it can be a bit desperate, almost like you are trying to qualify for the woman. from what i gather us men should have the ladies hold the doors for us.

it depends, if you are with a girl YOU aren't gaming because she is a friend or other then i don't mind being a gentlemen every now and then.

i am in an LTR and i'm not a gentleman all the time with my girl, don't get me wrong i'm happy where i am at with my girl. BUT i don't let her sit on her laurels thinking she has me on lock. The second you make/take it easy on a girl they start getting other ideas so always keep them on their toes.

Being the gentleman will get you walked all over. Women don't behave like ladies anymore, men shouldn't behave like gentlemen.

I'm pretty sure you're discussing a very different topic from the one put forth by the OP. He's a young kid who thinks 'holding a door' is 'gentlemanly'. You're probably talking about compromising your needs for the needs of a girl, which is really more a negotiation issue and less an act of 'chivalry'.

I try to be a gentlemen only to people who I don't intend to game. There's nothing wrong with being seen as the nice guy by old ladies, ugly chicks and the like. But I make a point to be an asshole quite often.
