| I know you say you don't care but how do you react to being hit?
Be honest, are you afraid to get hit?
I know you'll hear a lot of "just punch him in the throat to incapacitate him" or "grab his balls, twist and scream like a nut case" lol
It's easy for someone who's never been in a fight to say that they'd just hit someone in the throat. It's a good move if you need to seriously hurt the other guy. Hitting someone in the throat when you don't know what your doing could be deadly, only use that in serious situations. Life or death.
If you don't want to fight, and you want to look mature and tough walk away. That's the best thing to do, if you can before it starts. After it starts if you run away.. Well you know what that would look like.
You can have all the plans in the world, you can learn any martial art you want but the fact is if you can't take a hit, the second the other guy lands a good punch the first time all of that goes out the window.
In Muay Thai, they didn't let you spar or get in a ring for a couple months while you learned the basics.
I saw a guy who was absolutely flawless in his technique, he could hit the bag and throw combos way faster than I could, get in the ring for the first time and be totally confident get hit once and it was like he decided he was already going to lose.
It's a fact that the first hit is the most important when you're in a street fight. Of course the last hit is important too but the first hit sets the tone for the whole fight, which from experience only lasts about 1 to 3 minutes.
I've also seen a friend of mine that was in a fight with someone he had no chance with, swing wildly and knock the other guy out with one crazy haymaker. So never think you can't lose or win, anyone can get a lucky punch and end the whole thing fast.
Now that I've gotten a little older I know fighting isn't cool, there's very few things in life worth fighting over. Fighting over any girl who isn't your wife isn't one of them but I know sometimes it can't be avoided.
In that case you should always hit first. I'd way rather throw a kick than a punch but unless you know what you're doing you could end up doing more harm than good and looking completely ridiculous before getting your ass kicked.
Some guys think it is tough to not fight back, or that it somehow looks honorable. If you get hit and do anything but smile you look weak. Even if you smile, if you get hit more than once. If you get kicked on the ground...
First of all let me tell you, anyone who stomps someone who's obviously down is a pussy. If you're the one being kicked on the ground, you should know that one well placed kick could kill you or cause severe damage. It doesn't take much of a kick to the head or even the kidneys, chest, stomach to cause major damage.
So don't ever lay down and take a beating, who gives a fuck how you look at that point it's life or death. Do whatever you can to get up.
It's very hard to sit, stand or lay there taking hits and not look weak. It's really easier just to try to fight back, even if you can't fight at least you tried.
Always, always always get up as fast as you can if you get knocked, taken or tripped down. If you don't know how to fight on the ground you're better off standing up than having some asshole sit on your shoulders and hit you or spit in your face(happens).
The best advice I can give after probably boring you to death with all that would be..
Walk away before it escalates, if you can't..
Keep your head and hands up, tuck your chin in and protect your nose. Hit first and hard, twist your hips(use your hips when you punch, it's hard to explain in words.) and lead and follow through with your shoulder. Always get up as fast as you can, and don't give up. Aim for the nose, it's easy to break. Seeing all that blood will scare the other guy. When you break your nose your eyes tear up to the point you can't see. Google how to make a fist, if you don't know how you could hurt yourself. Maybe google how to throw a proper punch but the Internet can only help you a little bit.
Sorry for such a long post, I just want to help people defend themselves.
