Anyone have any advice for picking up women in bars? I'm talking dive bars, the ones filled with hipsters, lots of pool tables, gross bathrooms, and sticky floors.

Troubles I've had:

1: Bars are loud, and you often have to scream to talk to someone.

2: Many of the girls seem to already be there with guys.

3: Approach anxiety, from both me and my wingmen.

4: Sucking at pool. Self-explanatory.

5: The risk of talking to some good ol' boy's old lady and getting curb stomped.

How does one overcome these hurdles? And what is the most effective bar game?

try hanging by the bar its not as loud so they could here your drink order and every girl will come by at somepoint so its a good place to open up a few sets but youll look like a creep if u saty there the whole time so open get a girl and take her somewhere else to talk
and one more tip most guys there with a girl have just met each other ther hitting on girls just like you who would take there girlfriend to a bar for a date a very low percentage

What's a Hipster Bar? American thing I assume? I'm English so bear with me.

The chances of a guy taking a girl to a pool bar is fairly low (unless she likes pool...which is a pretty good thing).

Most people I know who game at pool bars ask a girl for a game. It's a fairly common thing and is a good way to get a conversation going.

It's not a bar for hipsters, there are just a lot of them that hang out there.
